  • The Women's Anti-Slavery Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is burned to the ground. The Mayor did not disperse the crowd, nor did he allow firefighters to save the building. The hidden force responsible for denying women their right to Free Speech, remained a mystery until April 12, 1864.
